FRIENDS!
I AM LIVING IN CAMBODIA!! i have been here 2 weeks and am completely in love with it. here is a little update on the last few weeks!!
the week before we left, we had a debrief in GA at base! this consisted of reflection, rest, and so many Godly conversations. we met our coaches, who will be a guidance for us throughout the race! they shared so much wisdom with us – i am so GRATEFUL!! the night before we left we had a commissioning night & oh did the Lord move! we worshipped – some of the most heavenly worship i’ve ever experienced. the Lord spoke so clearly to me that i was meant to GO! he spoke something to me that he had spoken just a year before when i was applying for the race – “for you to come to salvation costs you nothing, but for you to walk in the kingdom costs you everything” i left things at His feet that night that i needed to leave behind before GOING! Gap X (my squad) & Gap W prayed over & with each other before we both head out to the nations! what a beautiful night that the Lord blessed us with! the next day we set off to the airport!
travel day was exhausting & emotional. we took a 10 1/2 hour flight to Istanbul, Turkey, where we were fed some delicious Turkish food & SLEPT! we had a 2 hour layover in Istanbul – where I experienced some culture shock: got to encounter a squatty potty for the first time (CUTE!) then got on a 9 hour flight to Bangkok, Thailand! we had a 12 hour layover there & were able to leave the airport to explore the city! there was definitely a spiritual heaviness there that i definitely encountered the impacts of – but i trust that God will move in that place. He is good, despite the upset & chaos. after our layover, we took a small plane ride over to Phenom Penh, Cambodia. we filled out our visas & stepped into the country we will call come for the next month & a half!! we spent the night in a hostel & headed off to our ministries the next day. my team said our goodbyes to our squad – filled with both tears & excitement!
my team is working with Good Seed International School in Kampong Thom! we each have around 3 or 4 classes each day that we have the privilege to interact & teach in. all of the classes are english classes filled with children whose hearts are so big & excited to learn. i have never seen such a zeal for education! the Lord has greatly soften my heart to children’s ministry – He knew exactly what He was doing when He placed me here. although we get to interact with these children, our main ministry is to the teachers. few of them are Christ followers – we get to disciple those who are & share the good news with those who aren’t. would you partner with me in prayer as we continue to love on these kids & teachers. that hearts would be opened to the love of the Lord & lives would be changed. the people here are so beautiful & generous & welcoming, but they deeply need JESUS!!
thank YOU for all the ways you have supported & loved me throughout this journey! i am still in awe that i am fully funded!! praise be to God from where all blessings flow!
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!
